We Understand…

It could be argued that the foremost bond we share with one another as humans is the experience of trauma.  From the birth experience, through the many physical and emotional changes that life brings, to the loss of loved ones and coming face to face with our own mortality, being traumatized is almost unavoidable.  Unless you happen to be one of those luminous beings that faces their trauma head-on without resistance and allows themselves to be forged by the experience, there is a good chance that the traumatic experiences of your life have left their mark on you in the form of physical/emotional/spiritual crisis or even soul loss.

The rational mind is often inclined to compare our experiences with those of others, and so judge our own trauma to be insignificant (i.e., complaining about no shoes to one with no feet).  While this may be useful in informing our outward behavior, it is vital that we inwardly honor our own experience of trauma without judgment or risk the further trauma of self-betrayal.  When I started my healing journey I believed I had no right to be so “messed up” because I had grown up in a relatively healthy and loving environment, but the need to justify my feelings rationally was what held me back for so long from finding the path to real wholeness.

Our Approach…

In modern, comfortable, “civilized” society, pain and discomfort are seen as experiences to be avoided at all costs.  So our natural response to trauma is to “get over it” and put it behind us as quickly as possible.  Just as a laceration of the flesh must be cleaned and sometimes physically stitched closed, wounds of the soul (the result of trauma) must be honored, the emotions expressed and the lost parts reclaimed.  Our primary tool for this work is called age regression.  Using the hypnotic/meditative state, we follow today’s symptoms back to the experiences of the past, not to relive or re-traumatize, but to recognize the source of the wound, evaluate the beliefs and decisions formed in the experience (sometimes analogous to infection in an open wound), and recover any fragments of the soul that may have split off out of self-preservation.

In some cases we also reinforce the healing of trauma using a corrective experience (symbolically pushing away or taking back using innocuous physical objects like pillows).  This reinforces the inner shifts in emotional energy, and anchors the new experience of wholeness in the body. The work of soul retrieval and soul healing takes place on a very deep level where we’re not always consciously aware of the change until we suddenly notice that old patterns of pain are simply not present in our lives anymore.  And yet, others can often see the change in us almost immediately.  I’ve seen clients come out of a session looking years younger having let go of the pain and reclaimed a long lost part of themselves.
